The Dark One being summoned from the Dark Orb, from Sonic the Comic #62. Art by Nigel Kitching.

The Evil One, also known as the Dark One, was a demonic spirit native to the Nameless Zone. It was responsible for transforming the Enchanter King Shirob into Trogg.[1]

Some time later, Trogg used the Dark Orb to summon the Dark One again in order to transform the other Enchanter Kings in the same way as he had been. The Dark One demonstrated incredible power, effortlessly incapacitating Tails, Knuckles and Morain Blackthorn.[2] It successfully transformed the Enchanter Kings into monsters like Trogg, but was destroyed (and the transformations reversed) when Tails threw the Dark Orb into the "non-existent space" below the Dimension Bridge.[3]
